Patreon Update — February

Patreon Update

Hello patrons and fans of Source Gaming! I’m here to give a new update on what we are working on.

As mentioned previously, we’ve been working on expanding our YouTube and Twitter presence. I’m happy to announce that we’ve cleared over 1,000 followers on Twitter, and over 1,500 on YouTube. This is in thanks to the efforts by the whole team, regularly tweeting and RTing content throughout the entire day. One of the strengths of Source Gaming is that we have many people in different timezones. This allows us to always “be on” and to stay updated. Hopefully we can continue to utilize this strength more in the future.

We’ve been working on making new videos, articles and podcasts and I hope you guys enjoy this content. As always, we appreciate any feedback or suggestions!

The patreon has almost passed the server upgrade goal! An upgraded hosting plan will not only decrease load time for our users, but it will give us more options in the backend. Automatic backups, and multiple websites will allow us to test new things without relying on the normal site. So if you are able to help out, we’d really appreciate it!

Now that Case for Smash NX is finished, I will start my next project. “John,” a patron for Source Gaming has requested that I review Untold history of Japanese Game Developers Volumes 1 and 2.

I will begin working through that request after a very short vacation. Most users will not even realize I’m taking a break from the site as there will be content that I’ve pre-written, posted throughout the week. The site will still operate as normal with multiple posts throughout each day thanks to the effort of the rest of the staff. We have a lot of great content planned, and I look forward to working on it.

Speaking of patrons, we have a lot of new people to thank: special thanks to John, Jazzman, Team Haruhi, Zak, Rhyann, James, Nmaster64, Brandon, Toggle and NeoZero. Users who have donated $5 dollars or more should have access to our Patreon Chat, where you can talk with various members of Source Gaming anytime. If you haven’t received an invite please check hangouts.google.com. If you still do not see it, then please contact me ASAP (Either through Patreon or Twitter). Users at the $5 dollar or more levels will also have access to sneak previews of articles through the Google Drive. Please check drive.google.com to see “Shared with You Folder”. The name of the folder is “SG-Patreon Preview”. As with the chat, please let us know ASAP if you do not have access to it.

Team Haruhi made a video explaining why he supports Source Gaming. Thank you so much! (I still maintain data mining is different :P)

Thank you so much for all your support. I look forward to continuing providing new information for you guys and the larger community. Let us know how we are doing in the comments below 🙂
